You heard right. $50 free for all new Private Network accounts now through May. Private Network accounts get lower pricing than Open Network accounts and have their billing handled in the lab as opposed to being charged by ExpressDigital. Another huge advantage is the 3:00 PM cutoff for print as is orders. Open Network accounts have a 1 PM cutoff for same day shipping.

Effective May 15th the USPS is making some rather drastic changes to rates that they charge for flats and boxes. Every single item that we ship here will be impacted. The rate increase is rather dramatic and is simply not something that we can absorb. We have known that a major increase was coming for over a year so we were not totally unaware. Just a little surprised by the final increase amounts.
We are still contemplating our options, but we are rather certain that we will bring back UPS shipping for boxes and larger items. We still have a very bad taste from our last experience with UPS, but the times are changing.
Watch our website for the new rates and procedures during the first week of May. We will also do a short email update before the 15th that lists the new rates to help you prepare.
We have always had the ability to “hide” content from users on our website but we have always chosen to freely and openly share our content with everyone. This has always limited the amount of bandwidth hungry content like videos and podcasts we were willing to give away. Coming very soon that will all change.
We are putting the finishing touches on our first series of training videos as well as several short instructional PDF files. Unlike our standard support topic area these items will be for our customers only and will require a login and password. Don’t look for a podcast, that was just an example of high bandwidth content.
Check your email in the coming two weeks as current customers will be sent their login details as soon as we are ready.
We rely on instant messaging every day to pass quick notes and details throughout the lab. Several of our customers also rely on instant messaging to get quick answers to questions. It is often quicker than email and much easier than a phone call for those that are busy at the computer.

You many not get an “instant” answer, but it will certainly be much quicker than most other methods. If you are a current customer of the lab request a buddy ad on the network of your choice. Instant messaging is available Monday thru Friday from 9AM to 5PM Eastern.
Did you know that we provide support for our customers until 11 PM 7 days a week? If you are a current customer, which is defined simply as a customer that has had a print order in the lab in the last 60 days, you can email support@bbcolorlabs.com to get help. Please keep in mind that this is for support only. Questions that begin with “how do I” or that involve order status will be answered during normal business hours Monday thru Friday.
Issues involving sending orders to the lab or software issues that are preventing you from doing work now are all covered by our after hours support offering. Please allow 60 to 90 minutes for a response, though we are normally much quicker than that.

We are planning another marketing and software training seminar for July. Topics will include:
- Marketing to youth sports leagues.
- A year round marketing approach and calendar.
- Templates and ideas for marketing materials.
- Team picture day workflows.
- Borders and products.
- Color management.
The event will be held at Newport on the Levee and will be $50 for current lab customers only. The event will begin at 10 AM and will end when the last question is answered or at Midnight. Whichever comes first. Let us know if you are interested. The event will be limited to 15. First come, first served.
